Vintage Japanese Hand-Painted Porcelain Landscape Dish Signed 大咲, c.1930s
1930s
A charming vintage Japanese porcelain dish, dating to the early Showa period, likely circa 1930s. The compact circular form is finely hand-painted with a tranquil landscape featuring a bamboo grove, flowing water, a small arched bridge and a traditional Japanese house nestled among softly rendered hills and trees.
The delicate pastel palette is enhanced with fine gilt accents and raised enamel detailing, particularly across the architecture, foliage and water. A narrow patterned border with gold highlights frames the composition and adds a refined finishing touch.
The underside bears a gilt two-character mark 大咲 on a red cartouche. The precise artist or workshop attribution has not been confirmed.

Historical and Collector Context
Small decorative porcelain dishes were produced in Japan during the early Showa period for both domestic and international buyers. Many combined traditional landscape motifs with delicately applied enamel colours and gilt accents, creating compact display pieces suited to a cabinet or small stand.
This example is particularly appealing for its balanced bamboo-and-bridge composition, softly coloured scenery and raised gold detailing. The signed underside adds further interest, while the compact 9.5 cm diameter makes the dish an attractive small addition to a collection of vintage Japanese porcelain.
All items are vintage or antique and may show light signs of age. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description. Feel free to message with any questions prior to purchase.
