
Antique Japanese Imari Octagonal Dish, Hand-Painted Peonies & Bird, c1900

A beautifully hand-painted antique Japanese Imari porcelain dish, dating to the late Meiji to early Taishō period (c.1900-1920s). This striking octagonal piece features a central scene of a floral basket with blooming peonies and chrysanthemums, accompanied by a flying bird and stylised clouds. The rim is richly decorated with alternating panels of red, cobalt blue, and green with floral and geometric patterns, highlighted in gold. Classic of Arita-Imari ware, the base has cobalt blue brushwork and an unglazed foot rim.
