Historical and Collector Context
David Andersen established his workshop in Christiania, now Oslo, in 1876 and developed a reputation for finely crafted Norwegian silver and jewellery. Following his death in 1901, the family business continued under the name David-Andersen and became internationally recognised for its silverwork and decorative design.
The early tong mark and 830S silver standard on this ladle are consistent with David Andersen production from approximately 1892 to 1924, although similar marks continued to appear on some pieces of cutlery slightly later. The decorative King pattern and substantial silver weight add further collector appeal.
