Vintage Sterling Silver Engine-Turned Napkin Ring, Birmingham 1962
1962
A refined vintage English sterling silver napkin ring, fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1962.
Crafted in solid sterling silver, the ring has a classic cylindrical form decorated with finely engine-turned wavy and geometric bands. A smooth central cartouche remains blank and free from personal engraving, allowing the balanced decorative pattern to take centre stage.
The hallmarks include the Birmingham anchor, the lion passant for sterling silver and the date letter “n” for 1962. The maker’s mark is partially worn and cannot be identified with certainty, although the remaining visible detail appears consistent with a Harman Brothers mark.
With its clean proportions, attractive engine-turned decoration and excellent vintage condition, this napkin ring would make an appealing addition to a collection of British table silver. It would also make a thoughtful gift for a birthday, christening or special occasion.
