A vintage sterling silver bonbon or sweet dish by Adie Brothers Ltd, hallmarked in Birmingham with the date letter “Z” for the 1949 assay year. The dish has a shallow fluted bowl raised on a stepped circular foot, with a pierced gallery and rope-twist rim creating a light, balanced decorative form.

The underside is additionally stamped “Fabriqué pour Horovitz Alexandrie” and “Made in England”, indicating that the piece was produced for the Horovitz retailer in Alexandria. This additional retailer’s mark gives the dish an interesting export history while retaining the clear hallmarks of English sterling silver.
