Vintage Japanese Kutani Miniature Vase Red Top, Geisha & Grapevine Scene c.1930s

c. 1930

$62AUD

Delicately hand-painted miniature Japanese porcelain vase in the Kutani style, dating to the late Taisho to early Showa period (circa 1920s–1940s). This petite vase features a striking red overglaze shoulder and a finely decorated continuous scene of geisha in a garden setting, surrounded by cascading grapevines and traditional landscape elements. The artwork combines sepia transfer outlines with soft hand-coloured enamels in green, yellow, purple, and blue. A classic example of early 20th-century Japanese export ware, ideal for collectors of miniature Kutani porcelain. Base is unmarked, as typical for studio-made pieces of this kind.
