Limited Edition Sterling Silver Royal Silver Jubilee Dish, Roberts & Dore, London 1975
Roberts & Dore Ltd · 1975
A distinctive vintage English sterling silver commemorative dish by Roberts & Dore Ltd, fully hallmarked for London, 1975, and produced to commemorate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The circular sterling silver dish features a mounted Royal Mint commemorative crown coin celebrating the royal couple’s 25th wedding anniversary. The coin is inscribed “ELIZABETH AND PHILIP · 20 NOVEMBER · 1947–1972” and forms the decorative focal point of the restrained polished silver design.
The dish is presented in its original fitted red case and accompanied by an Archive College of Australia certificate issued to Paul A. Brannelly, Esq. The certificate states that the sterling silver dish was produced to order by Roberts & Dore Limited, London, to commemorate the 25th Wedding Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
With its clear London hallmarks, original presentation case and surviving personalised certificate, the piece would make an appealing addition to a collection of British commemorative silver, Royal memorabilia or vintage presentation ware.
