Japanese Satsuma Moriage Vase 25cm Geisha Garden Scene Gilt Enamel Showa Era

$135AUD

Elegant Japanese Satsuma-style vase from the early to mid-Showa period (circa 1930s–1950s), standing 25 cm tall and richly decorated with moriage enamel and raised gilt detailing. This highly ornate vase features a continuous outdoor scene of geisha near a lakeside pavilion, surrounded by willow trees, lotus blossoms, and traditional buildings.

The decoration includes hand-applied raised floral borders, dot-textured backgrounds, and finely painted kimono patterns in vibrant red, blue, and green. Stylized flower medallions encircle the neck beneath a flared petal-shaped rim. A beautiful example of mid-20th-century Japanese export porcelain, often misattributed as Chinese but unmistakably Japanese in origin and style.
