Vintage David-Andersen Norway Silver-Gilt Sterling Silver Guilloché Enamel Demitasse Coffee Spoons, Set of 6, c.1950s
David-Andersen, Norway · Mid-20th century
A colourful vintage set of six Norwegian silver-gilt sterling silver demitasse coffee spoons by David-Andersen, dating to the mid-20th century, likely circa 1950s.
Each spoon features an elegant Art Deco-inspired fan-shaped handle decorated with enamel in a different colour: blue, green, ivory, purple, orange and black. The elongated enamel panels are divided by slender silver lines and finished with a small stylised shell-like terminal, creating a refined and balanced Scandinavian design.
The bowls and reverse surfaces retain a warm gold-washed finish, complementing the rich enamel colours. Each spoon is marked DAVID-ANDERSEN NORWAY STERLING.
With their distinctive fan-shaped handles and varied colour palette, these spoons would make an appealing addition to a collection of Norwegian silver, Scandinavian decorative arts or vintage enamel tableware. They are suitable for display or occasional use with care.

Historical and Collector Context
David-Andersen was established in Christiania, now Oslo, in 1876 and became one of Norway’s recognised silver and jewellery firms. During the early 20th century, enamel decoration became an important part of the company’s identity, appearing across jewellery, table silver and decorative objects.
This mid-20th-century set reflects the firm’s characteristic combination of sterling silver, gold-washed surfaces and colourful enamel work. The fan-shaped handles retain a strong Art Deco influence while remaining representative of Scandinavian decorative design from the period.
