Historical and Collector Context
J.C. Vickery was a prominent Regent Street retailer of luxury goods during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Founded in 1890, the firm offered jewellery, dressing cases, silverware and refined personal accessories from its London premises. By the 1910s, the business held several Royal Warrants. This 1928 vanity jar is representative of the elegant dressing table accessories sold by the firm during the interwar period, when silver-mounted glass pots were used for cosmetics, powders and small personal items.
