Historical and Collector Context

Chinese snuff bottles were produced from the Qing dynasty onward as small portable containers for powdered tobacco. Over time, they became highly collectible miniature works of art, made in many materials including glass, jade, agate, porcelain, enamel and metal.

Porcelain examples from the late Qing and early Republic periods often feature famille rose enamels, figural scenes, floral borders and decorative colour palettes associated with Chinese domestic and export taste. This example is appealing for its compact size, hand-painted ladies, original stopper and well-preserved condition.

It would suit collectors of Chinese porcelain, Qing or Republic-period decorative arts, snuff bottles, miniature Asian antiques or small cabinet display pieces.

All items are vintage or antique and may show light signs of age. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description. Feel free to message with any questions prior to purchase.
