Antique Burmese Silver Lotus Bowl with Repoussé Deity Motifs
late 19th – early 20th century
A finely worked antique Burmese silver bowl, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The petite form is shaped like a lotus flower, with softly flared petal-like sides and a richly decorated repoussé surface.
The exterior is detailed with deity figures, floral motifs and scrolling ornament, all worked in relief to create depth and movement across the small surface. Despite its compact 6 cm diameter, the bowl has a strong decorative presence and reflects the intricate hand craftsmanship associated with Burmese silverwork of the period.
The bowl is unmarked but tests as high-grade silver.

Historical and Collector Context
Burmese silverwork of the late 19th and early 20th centuries is admired for its deep repoussé decoration and finely worked narrative or symbolic motifs. Bowls, cups, containers and small vessels were among the most characteristic forms, often decorated with figures, floral ornament and densely worked surface detail.
This petite lotus-form bowl is a charming small-scale example of that tradition. Its unmarked high-grade silver body, relief deity motifs and compact display size make it an attractive addition to a collection of Asian silver, Burmese decorative arts or antique hand-worked silver objects.
All items are vintage or antique and may show light signs of age. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description. Feel free to message with any questions prior to purchase.
