Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Repoussé Sugar Bowl by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1900, Gilt Interior
James Dixon & Sons Ltd · 1900
An elegant antique late Victorian sterling silver sugar bowl by James Dixon & Sons Ltd, fully hallmarked for Sheffield, 1900.
Crafted in solid sterling silver, the bowl has a beautifully shaped oval form with deep fluted sides, elaborate rococo-style repoussé scrollwork and two angular handles. The interior retains a rich gilt finish, creating a refined contrast with the polished silver exterior.
Each side features a vacant cartouche, preserving the original balanced design and leaving the piece free from personal engraving. The combination of richly modelled decoration, practical proportions and warm gilt interior gives the bowl a particularly attractive presence on a formal table or within a curated silver collection.
Suitable for use as a traditional sugar bowl, bon-bon dish or small decorative serving bowl, this piece is a fine example of late Victorian Sheffield silver by a recognised British maker.
